In the heart of Los Altos Hills, a striking custom home is taking shape—designed to blend expansive modernism with warm, livable luxury. To realize the architect’s vision of seamless indoor-outdoor flow and dramatic natural light, the team at Allstar Windows was selected to install a curated collection of premium windows from Jada and Loewen.
With meticulous attention to detail, the Allstar team ensured every window and door unit fit to exacting specifications, complementing the home’s architectural lines and structural geometry.
Project Highlights
Monumental Stairwell Window WallÂ
One of the home's architectural focal points is a two story wall of Jada Windows, located along the central stairwell. These slender-framed steel windows were selected for their minimalist lines and extraordinary strength, allowing for generous expanses of glass with minimal obstruction.
Currently protected by a scratch-resistant film, the stairwell glass units have already transformed the interior by flooding the core of the home with diffuse, ambient light—even in its raw construction state.
Custom Loewen Units for Passive Performance
Elsewhere in the home, Loewen wood-clad windows and doors were installed to balance aesthetic warmth with high-performance weather resistance. Engineered for California’s varied climate, these units support the home's passive design goals while contributing to its elevated material palette.
Precision Installation by Allstar Windows
Allstar Windows managed the full installation process, working closely with the framing and finish carpenters to meet tight tolerances and sequencing demands. Many of the window and door units required custom flashing, steel coordination, and on-site adjustments due to the home’s bespoke framing plan and architectural reveals.
Challenges & Solutions
Allstar’s crew navigated minimal clearance conditions and complex wall assemblies, ensuring each unit aligned flawlessly with architectural intent.
Large, heavy panels were carefully maneuvered using specialized lift equipment. Protective films and temporary bracing were applied to preserve finishes through the remaining construction phases.
The team worked in lockstep with MEP contractors and framers to ensure seamless integration of window systems into the building envelope.
Client Outcome
Though still under construction, the impact of the window installation is already visible—literally and figuratively. The careful selection and expert installation of Jada and Loewen products have elevated the home's spatial experience, ensuring that light, view, and luxury are present in every room.
