Project Overview
Perched atop a rugged hilltop in Carmel Valley with panoramic views stretching to the Pacific Ocean, this custom-built modern residence pushes the boundaries of architectural possibility. Designed to immerse its occupants in the natural surroundings, the home is constructed primarily of glass—an ambitious vision brought to life with precision installation of high-performance Otiima windows and scenic doors.
Location Challenges & Site Logistics
The remote site presented unique logistical hurdles. Access roads were steep and narrow, requiring careful planning for delivery and staging of oversized glass units. Â Our crew navigated these challenges with a detailed install schedule and specialized equipment to safely transport and set the large-format Otiima frames.
The Window System
The architectural design demanded unobstructed views, minimal sightlines, and seamless indoor-outdoor transitions. Otiima was the clear choice. We installed:
- Floor-to-ceiling fixed and operable window walls
- Multi-panel sliding scenic doors
- Custom corner assemblies
Every unit was designed to maximize glass and minimize framing, creating a virtually transparent building envelope that frames the ocean and rolling valley below like a living work of art.
Precision Installation
Installing Otiima’s slim-profile systems requires exact tolerances. Our team coordinated closely with the builder, architect, and structural engineer from the earliest framing stages to ensure every opening was dialed in for a perfect fit.
